Many users find themselves frustrated with the pervasive GDPR consent banners and cookie notices that frequently obstruct their browsing experience, often covering substantial portions of the screen. This persistent issue has prompted the development of solutions aimed at improving user comfort and efficiency.

Banner Hunter offers a practical approach by providing a Safari extension designed to conceal these banners through the application of a specialized stylesheet. This tool seeks to streamline the browsing process by minimizing visual clutter without interfering with website functionality.

Key features include:
<ul>
<li>A comprehensive blocklist comprising over 6,000 manually curated sites across more than 40 top-level domains</li>
<li>An automatic updating mechanism that ensures the blocklist remains current without user intervention</li>
<li>A share extension facilitating user reports of banner occurrences directly from Safari, aiding ongoing improvements</li>
</ul>

Users are encouraged to report any sites where banners persist despite extension activation via the share sheet, enabling the maintainers to enhance the blocklist. Additionally, if users encounter cases where the extension appears to impede site display or functionality, they are advised to report these issues as well. The extension can also be temporarily disabled through the Settings app when necessary.

It is important to clarify that Banner Hunter functions solely as a content blocker targeting cookie and privacy policy banners. It does not serve as an ad or tracker blocker, nor does it perform any actions such as automatic acceptance or rejection of cookies or tracking elements on visited sites. Its primary purpose is to visually eliminate obstructive banners without altering the underlying website content.

Finally, to address privacy considerations, Banner Hunter does not engage in any form of data collection regarding user browsing activities—a design feature that aligns with best practices in user privacy and security.
